This is how we will transform your idea into the final product

Please touch the Products menu item above to see examples of materials and design.

Once you have an idea what you would like, we will sit down and discuss your needs. There will be options for the type of material, graphics and text. Once I have an understanding of your request I can offer suggestions and begin designing.

The next step will be to create the item in Lightburn (the software I use). Lightburn is similar to CAD but specific to the use of a Laser engraver. The image below is an example of a project designed for a slate coaster.

Once this is complete, I will connect the software design to my Laser and begin to cut and/or engrave. I use a ROLY MK2 10/30W Laser. It is very powerful and precise. The laser beam is focused on the material and has a beam width of about .004" (4/1000 of an inch). The head of the laser moves in a horizontal and vertical direction to complete the image. It is capable of moving across the material at about 20"/second. With the power turned up, it can cut through 1/4" plywood with ease. It engraves a very small dot in the design with that tiny beam which produces a very precise image.
